I speak Hindi:

The language that unites the land of my people,

The land of waterfalls and new beginnings,

The language of mountains and hope.

I speak Bengali:

A language considered to be among the most beautiful in the world,

The language of twittering birds,

The language of new love.

I speak Marathi:

The language of the fierce warriors that drove the colonizers away,

The language that roughens my mouth every time I speak it,

The language of courage.

Yet when I speak English with an accent,

I become uneducated.
