Red Pocket Magazine 🏮 is an international literary magazine that publishes the writing ✍️ and art 🎨 of youth of the Asian diaspora ages 13+.
✨ What you’ll be doing
A Head Editor’s responsibilities include the responsibilities of an Editor, as listed below:
Select and critique written pieces for magazine using critical thinking skills, providing constructive feedback to encourage submitters to continue creating art and help submitters’ improve their work
Work with rest of team to define and maintain standard of writing for magazine to ensure high quality pieces for readers
Communicate with and develop strong long-term relationships with submitters
Please submit a portfolio if you have one!
In addition to an Editor’s responsibilities, a Head Editor' has the following responsibilities:
Mentor and support other editors’ growth by providing feedback on the quality of their critiques
Assist the Director of Curation with adjusting and keeping track of timelines to ensure the delivery of a high quality and timely volume

Above all, Red Pocket is a safe space where you can live your truth, share your lived experiences, and unapologetically engage in discussions with people who have grown up similarly to you, yet vastly different at the same time. We grow as a team and we bond over rants about boba, tea about our lives, hot takes on random topics, and each others’ successes. ❤️

NOTE: We are looking for a diverse group of team members from the Asian diaspora, not only East Asian team members. We encourage South Asian, South East Asian, and Central Asian youth to apply!
