Letter From the Editor
Our World Food Day Special Issue first started out with our team wanting to celebrate the role food has played in our cultural identities.
As we did research on an appropriate time in the year to publish this Special Issue, we learned about World Food Day, an international day commemorating raising awareness of food insecurity and poverty.
Much of our team, having never heard of World Food Day, wanted to dedicate our Special Issue to it. What was once an issue celebrating Asian cuisine has now become an issue outlining our appreciation for the nutritious food we take for granted everyday.
For the rest of October, Red Pocket Magazine will be selling stickers to raise money for No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit with the goal of eradicating childhood hunger in the United States. You can buy stickers for 1 to 2 dollars, allowing No Kid Hungry to provide 10 to 20 meals for children.
All proceeds will be going to No Kid Hungry.
We hope to join you in the mission against hunger.
Kind regards,
Barton Lu
