We are Red Pocket Magazine.

Red pockets 🧧 are envelopes typically given out during celebrations, such as Lunar New Year. They are often given from adult to child, and represent a nostalgic part of childhood.

Red Pocket Magazine is a literary magazine for youth of the Asian diaspora. Here at Red Pocket Magazine, we challenge writers to embrace their culture in an interesting way: by asking them to learn something new about their culture and incorporate it into their writing and art through subtle allusions and allegories.

We hope to be a symbol of the happiness and nostalgia of cultural traditions part of childhood, and a means to reconnect back to one’s roots.
